Nobody Ever Really Dies.
Let us squeeze the lemons in each our left hands,
While we laugh at the jokes of the old and sagely,
Seated in a pile of earth-cracked ash in this harmattan.
Let us find the fluid and filter a seed. Let us make us a baby, baby.
Let us lie together and awaken the night in small stilted voices,
While the sleepy still night tries in vain to find its rage and fight,
We’ll invite the Moon and Her stars to bear witness and the Sun to lend His glimmer.
Let us create our image, our likeness. Today we shall lie in wait for the night.
Let us pretend that we can even die, let us shed a tear with mortal man,
While he wails and weeps and makes himself a wretch. We’ll grieve if we must,
Summon Ceres, summon the Pleiades, summon the sentry to the stars.
Let us remember that we are Power, Energy, we are Love and we are sadly, dust.
